Beginner’s Leatherworking: Craft Your Own Tri-fold Leather Journal

$72In Beginner’s Leatherworking: Craft Your Own Tri-fold Leather Journal, you will learn and apply leatherworking techniques to create a custom, refillable journal from vegetable tanned leather! We will teach you how to use a pattern to mark and punch holes, set eyelets, and attach a leather pocket using either saddle stitching or rivets. You will also learn the basics of leather stamping and staining as you customize the journal cover and interior pocket. Finally, you will install the ribbons and journal inserts, then make and attach a custom button or charm to complete your piece. Finished journals measure approximately 6″ X 8.25″ when closed and can hold up to three Large Moleskine Cahier journals (5″ X 8.25″), or standard A5 journals. Each student will leave class with one handmade leather journal and a working knowledge of the tools and techniques needed to continue exploring leatherworking at home!
Supplies Needed: None. All leather supplies are included to complete this project. Each student will also receive two Moleskine journals in either ruled or plain page styles to complete their refillable leather journal.
