Explore the beauty of nature through pressed floral design in this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop led by professional floral designer Jodie Zhao, owner of PlantBox Flower Preservation Studio. You’ll learn key design principles including balance, rhythm, proportion, and color harmony, all while working with a curated selection of pressed flowers and foliage.
The class begins with an introduction to the art of pressed florals, followed by creative inspiration and practical tips for working with delicate botanical materials. You’ll then design your own 8×11″ pressed flower mosaic, a unique piece that brings together natural elements and thoughtful composition. Along the way, you’ll gain foundational skills for creating future pressed flower arrangements, plus guidance on sourcing supplies, tools, and materials to support your continued exploration. This class is perfect for nature lovers, craft enthusiasts, or anyone looking to create something beautiful and truly one of a kind.
Supplies Needed: None. All cardstock, dried flora, and craft supplies needed for your project are included.
Instructor Bio: Jodie Zhao has been creating pressed flower art for the past three years after discovering the significant waste in the floral industry. A graduate of the Canadian Institute of Floral Design, she now focuses on working with clients to customize their wedding bouquet preservation.
